A New Chapter Under the Lights at Yate Rugby

At Yate Rugby, we’ve always believed in building something bigger than just pitches and facilities, we’re building a home for OUR sport, a hub for community, and a centre of excellence for rugby in our region.

Last week marked a huge milestone on that journey.

Through a powerful partnership between Yate Town Council, Yate Rugby Club, and Yate Outdoor Sports Complex, we are proud to unveil a brand-new pitch, positioned at the heart of our athletics track. A space that represents not just investment in infrastructure, but investment in people, opportunity, and the future of the game.

This project, funded by Yate Rugby, is another step forward in our shared ambition to make YOSC a true centre of excellence for rugby; a place where players of all ages and abilities can train, play, and thrive.

🌟 Friday Night Lights – A Moment to Remember

To mark the opening of the new pitch, we hosted our very first Friday Night Lights fixture  and there was only one team who could lead us into this new era.

Our Under 16s.

These players have been part of the club since their earliest days in minis and youth rugby. They’ve grown with us. They’ve helped shape the culture we’re so proud of today. And as we look ahead to the future, it felt only right that they were the ones to take the first steps onto this new stage.

What followed was an outstanding evening of rugby.

Played under the lights, in front of friends, family, and supporters, the match captured everything we stand for energy, pride, teamwork, and enjoyment. It wasn’t just a great game; it was a statement about where we are as a club and where we’re heading.

It’s about:
