Well, hello! It's been a little while since our last update, but we're back, we're buzzing, and we've got a whole season of exciting news to share with you!
First things first... welcome back to the Phoenixes!
A new season brings a fresh start, a new structure, a new name, and some seriously exciting plans for the women's and girls' side of Yate Rugby.
From now on, the Phoenixes will have their very own regular feature in the Yate Rugby newsletter, making this your one-stop shop for everything happening in women's rugby at the club. Expect training updates, team news, match reports, player features and, of course, a few surprises along the way!
💪 Preseason: The Grind Before the Glory
While everyone else has been enjoying the summer break, the Phoenixes squad has been quietly getting the work done.
Preseason training has been in full swing, with the girls building fitness, sharpening their skills and preparing for the challenges ahead. With the first games of the season now on the horizon, the hard work continues.
Sweat now, score tries later... that's the plan!

👏 Meet Your Coaching Team
Leading the Phoenixes into the 2026/27 season is our fantastic coaching team:

Scouse – Assistant Coach
Ethan Rowe – Assistant Coach
With plenty of passion, experience and energy on the training pitch, we're excited to see what this team can help the Phoenixes achieve this season.
🫡 Your Leadership Squad
Every great team needs strong leaders, and we're delighted to introduce the Phoenixes leadership group for the season ahead.
Captains
Char Price & Abbie Rowe

Supporting the squad behind the scenes are:
Georgia Mills – Women's Lead
