Under 15s Secure a Strong 21–0 Win Against St Brendan’s

There was plenty to be proud of as our Under 15s team of Yate\Whitehall\Quins put in a composed and determined performance to secure a 21–0 victory over St Brendan’s.

The team went into the match looking relaxed, but certainly not complacent. Reniko’s pre-match team talk had clearly landed, with the players focused, switched on and ready for the challenge ahead.

Fast Hands Turn the Tide

The standout moment came after the team had to soak up a very aggressive press defence from St Brendan’s.

Rather than panic, the team adapted brilliantly, using fast hands to create options out wide. That movement opened up space for Seb to step inside and score the teams first try, a crucial moment that shifted the momentum of the game.

From there, our lads

continued to build confidence, showing patience, control and a willingness to stick to the plan.

Defensive Determination

There were some excellent individual performances across the team.

Gene was named the captain’s Man of the Match after producing a series of strong runs and consistently making valuable yards for the side.

Lucas Iles was a tackling machine, putting himself about and tackling everything that moved.

Jacob Brice was once again a force in defence, taking no prisoners while also continually straightening the running line with some ferocious crash balls. His direct running helped give our attack a real platform to work from.

The partnership between Harry at 9 and Seb at 10 also impressed, providing a solid platform for quick ball and helping the team move through its attacking phases with confidence.

A Complete Team Performance

The 21–0 score line reflected a strong all-round effort from the lads. The players showed composure under pressure, worked hard for one another and continued to apply what they have been developing in training.

Most importantly, they stayed focused on the job, listened to the instructions and kept working together right through the match.

A deserved win, a clean sheet and plenty of positives to take forward.
