There’s a buzz in the air at Yate Rugby—and it’s not just because of the summer sunshine. It’s because something truly special has taken flight… the South Glos Falcons are here! 🚀🦅
At our launch event, we were lucky enough to be joined by none other than the Bristol Bears Community Foundation, a powerhouse in the rugby Community and an inspiration for so many young players. Their support at the start of our journey shows just how much potential this team has, and we couldn’t be more excited to get underway.
Although we’re taking a short pause over the bank holiday, make no mistake, our season kicks off in style on the 31st, and this is just the beginning of something incredible.
🌍 Building a Legacy from the Women’s Rugby World Cup
The South Glos Falcons aren’t just another team, they’re part of a much bigger vision.
We’re working closely with England Rugby (RFU) to create a long-lasting legacy from this year’s Women’s Rugby World Cup. This isn’t just about playing the game, it’s about creating opportunities for women and girls across our region to step onto the field, grow in confidence, and thrive as part of a team.
From investing in coaching structures to building pathways into rugby for all, we’re committed to making the Falcons a leading force in girls’ rugby for years to come.
🏟️ A Clubhouse for Everyone
Our journey doesn’t stop on the pitch. Thanks to incredible sponsorship and partnerships, we’ve reimagined and updated our clubhouse at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex.
This inclusive space isn’t just for rugby, it’s for all sports and the entire community. With strong partnerships alongside Yate Athletics, Yate Hockey, Yate Football, and Yate Town Council, we’re building something that goes beyond sport.
It’s about connection, belonging, and creating an environment where everyone feels welcome.
👩🏫 Coaching, Schools & Community

Our brand-new coaching team, in partnership with the Bristol Bears Community Foundation, has put together a structured plan to give our players the very best start.
And it doesn’t stop there, we’re teaming up with the Yate Rugby Schools Network to bring rugby to local schools. That means more girls and young women being introduced to the game in a fun, supportive, and inclusive way.
This is rugby at its best, accessible, exciting, and open to everyone.
🦅 Why Not Be Part of Something New?
The Falcons are more than just a team—they’re a movement. A chance to be part of something special, exciting, and ground-breaking right here in South Gloucestershire.
So, whether you’re an experienced player or brand new to rugby, this is your moment. Come and join the Falcons. Come and be part of a team that will shape the future of the game.
💙 No experience needed.💙 No barriers.💙 Just rugby, fun, and the chance to be part of history. 💙 And FREE.
